The kid’s first ice hockey season has been such a blast! We’ve seen massive improvements in skill and coordination in just a few months, and we’re really enjoying being a part of a team. It’s great to see our kid improve and work towards moving up to the next level, and towards the bigger goal of playing goalie.
Even the early mornings aren’t so bad anymore, thanks to someone remembering to pack multiple travel cups of coffee!
Today’s lunch is packed with ice hockey – and it’s on the simpler side. One of the great things about bento is that while it’s fun to make the more complicated lunches, it doesn’t always have to be complex to be awesome. This kind of simpler, faster-to-make bento will still be adored by my kid and also help encourage healthy eating.
Packed in our Bentgo Kids box:
Hockey Stick Sandwich
String Cheese, cut in to pieces, on a NHL pick
Annie’s Homegrown Chocolate Chip Cookie Bites, in a mini silicone cup, with a hockey puck cupcake ring
Broccoli and Carrot Sticks, accented with an ice hockey player cupcake ring (the carrots are underneath)
Hummus for dipping
Bite Sized Strawberries and Blackberries on a NHL pick
Apple Slices, dipped in diluted cider to prevent browning, underneath a
hockey puck ring
This Bentgo Kids box was the first ever bento box I purchased. Since then, I’ve amassed quite a collection of boxes, and I still love this box! I can’t say enough how great it is, especially for younger children. It’s leakproof, you can put the tray in the dishwasher, and it holds the perfect amount of food for a younger child or someone who
likes to graze.
