We’re on school break starting tomorrow, so here’s our last Thanksgiving school lunch for this year! The blog won’t be completely quiet though – Mr. Bento Ninja will have some work lunches that I’ll share.
Today’s PlanetBox Launch was based on my personal Thanksgiving favorites – Pie and the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade! The balloons didn’t come out like I had pictured, so I’m sure I’ll do a homage to the parade again next year.
In today’s bento lunch:
Pie Sandwich with a Mini Edible Pie Decoration on top, packed on top of a plastic teacup saucer
Blackberries decorated with a Happy Thanksgiving Pick
Babybel Cheese topped with a Mini Edible Pie Decoration, surrounded by extra carrot sticks
Hard Boiled Egg with “Happy Thanksgiving!” written on with a food marker
Hummus in a PlanetBox Dipper
Apple Slices, cut into Star and Gingerbread Man Macy’s Balloon Shapes, with Carrot Stick Strings, packed on top of dried cherries
Packed with a Lunchbox Love Thanksgiving Note, red Light My Fire spork and a Horizon Milk Box
We love watching the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade on television every year and seeing our favorite balloons make their way through the Manhattan streets! Check out the book “Balloons Over Broadway” by Melissa Sweet for a beautifully illustrated history of the parade and the inventor behind the famous balloons, Tony Sarg!
